Calcaneo Cavus

Definition

 

Pure Cavus Deformity characterised by 

- dorsiflexion of Calcaneus 

- plantarflexion of Forefoot

 

Aetiology

 

Weakness of Tendoachilles

 

Usually neuromuscular

- Polio (Most common worldwide) 

- Spina bifida

- CP (can be due to overcorrection of T Ach)

- Spinocerebellar Degen (Friedreich's Ataxia)
